Good Exam? Insights from an Examiner for Grade 5
As an examiner, my goal is to design exams that not only test knowledge but also encourage critical thinking and creativity. Grade 5 is a pivotal year where students deepen their understanding across various subjects, and exams play a significant role in this process.
Grade 5 Exams Should Balance Challenge and Simplicity
A good exam strikes a balance between questions that challenge students and those that boost their confidence. For example, in Mathematics, a mix of straightforward arithmetic problems and word problems requiring deeper reasoning ensures every student has a fair chance to succeed.
2025 Grade 5 Exams: Focusing on Key Concepts
Exams should focus on core concepts taught in class. In English, I ensure comprehension passages reflect vocabulary and grammar students have encountered. For subjects like Science & Technology, the questions often connect with real-life applications, like understanding energy or how machines work.
